Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing!
The Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing! program of CFJE is an informal two-year education program that creates an opportunity for adolescent girls to explore their personal values, develop leadership skills, enjoy being Jewish, and have FUN!!
Each month the girls gather in a home or synagogue to celebrate the new month through the use of drama activities and craft projects coupled with engaging conversation all related to Rosh Hodesh . Our group leaders facilitate each gathering using text, midrash, Jewish stories and content to create an interactive, fun atmosphere where girls enjoy learning about themselves, being Jewish and making Jewish friends. Monthly gatherings on or near Rosh Hodesh foster the importance of women in Judaism.
The girls study and explore fabulous Jewish role models that instill values of commitment toward religion, family and themselves as human beings. The program also places an importance on staying committed to Jewish organizations and causes. Girls are learning at an early age the importance of being involved in the Jewish community.
