HOMELAND WINS NATIONAL JEWISH BOOK AWARD
HOMELAND: The Illustrated History of the State of Israel, published by CFJE's imprint, Nachshon Press, has won the National Jewish Book Award, recognized as the most prestigious award in Jewish literature. Administered by the Jewish Book Council, the awards are the longest running North American awards program of its kind in the field of Jewish literature, and are designed to give recognition to outstanding books, to stimulate writers to further literary creativity and to encourage the reading of worthwhile titles.

Alumni more likely to stay connected post-bar/bat mitvzah
Nearly ten years has passed since CFJE launched its idea to bring eighth-graders to Israel for an intensive, one-week experience to give them a “taste” of the country, its history, and people.
Now, more than 700 alumni later, a new research study makes the strong case that the program has accomplished what it set out to do: to keep participants connected and committed to Jewish life beyond their bar/bat mitzvah.
